Mérindol-les-Oliviers is in the heart of what is known as the 'golden triangle', around the ancient town of Vaison-la-Romaine about 45 kms north-east of Avignon. The area is famous for its summer festivals and fascinating street markets.

Cycle hire, hill climbing, horse-riding, river bathing, river walking, tennis, wine tasting and conducted tours (in English) of the Roman sites are all available locally. There is a superb golf course, just north of Avignon.

Surrounded by wonderful Côtes du Rhône villages such as Gigondas, Rasteau, Beaumes de Venise, Cairanne, Vacqueras and Chateauneuf-du-Pape, we can recommend many excellent domains where you will find very good wine - often at a very good price.
